Soy Prevent Hypertension

A study conducted several experts in the United States (Archives of Internal Medicine, 2005) some time ago showed new evidence that the diet program that was directly related to soy can lower blood pressure up to 10% more. In a study involving participants as much as 60 women aged between 48 to 65 years. The women were required to do the diet for approximately 16 weeks. At the time of the first eight weeks, the daily food given to the volunteers is enriched with isoflavones and also added as much as 25 grams of soy protein. And at eight weeks, the volunteers are doing the same diet but food given no added soy. And after all the dieting period is over, they all measured blood pressure.

Soy Prevent Hypertension
Effect of the addition of soy is quite high because the woman who at the beginning of the study have had or have a congenital disease is high blood pressure. And it turns out after the blood pressure upon them (systolic) was measured, it turns out the woman's blood pressure declined by 10% and lower (diastolic) of 7%. And the volunteers who had normal blood pressure, a decrease of 5% of systolic and diastolic 3%. But that can not be explained from the study, is the occurrence of blood pressure reduction was caused by additional protein or isoflavones from soy added.

According to the researchers, the blood pressure lowering effect was the same as or equivalent to the effects of antihypertensive drugs.

From the results it obtained sufficient data confirm the results of previous epidemiological studies showing evidence that the people who love to eat soy, the incidence of cardiovascular disease was lower than average.

Conclusion of Soy Prevent Hypertension
